Chef/Patron John Quigley of award-winning restaurant Red Onion in Glasgow, wished to create an bespoke in-house Craft Beer - a robust strong Amber Ale entitled ‘Quigley’s Red’, to be served to drinkers and diners alike.
The resulting bottle label I created was inspired by it’s origins as an accompaniment to their signature Braised Blade of Beef dish - with a subtle hoof reference in the final design. Working in conjunction with Drygate Brewery - one of the original craft brewers in Scotland, their own beer was made specifically for cooking and for pairing with the dish. It is now a popular drink in its own right.
